Class Description

In our holistic nutrition class, students will delve into the intricate connection between food and the body, exploring the principles of Anatomy & Physiology (A&P) to understand how nutrients impact different bodily systems. Through hands-on experiences, students will learn to prepare wholesome and balanced meals, snacks, and beverages that nourish the body and support overall well-being. This class will empower students to make informed choices about their diet and lifestyle, fostering a deeper understanding of the importance of nutrition for optimal health. Students will receive their own textbook/workbook to keep, where they will do all of their assignments. It is not mandatory but encouraged to purchase The Human Body Coloring Book to aid them in assignments. There will be moderate reading suggested between classes and homework will be questions from the lesson that weren’t completed in class. Each week we will prepare a dish, snack or beverage that correlates with the lesson for students to taste and some weeks take home samples. Everything will be provided but students are responsible for washing and returning all reusable cups, lids, containers and utensils each week.

Sometimes this class may run 30 minutes into lunch but this will be communicated ahead of time.
