Class Description
Modeled off of the popular podcast “Smash, Boom, Best” students will learn how to participate in, score and mediate a fun, friendly debate! Using this specific debate format and learning about argumentation, students will learn to voice their own ideas and opinions while receiving others’ too.

This is the first of a two part class. In the Spring, students 11 and up, will be invited to join “The Great Debate,” a timed honored tradition of discussing big topics. In this class we will see the history of influence, how science has shaped modern thinking, the impact of emotion and influence on our ideas, and pause to consider the flaws of both AI and the human mind. We will look at specific points in famous debates and bring in our own personal encounters with “The Great Debate.”
