Class Description
HCC Lab Sciences for Middle School and High School *These are student lead classes. Students will choose their experiments and bring their own supplies. * If there are other students signed up for the same lab class, there might be an opportunity to work as a team although teamwork is not required. * HCC recommends Apologia science labs because the lab materials are easier to find and less expensive than some other lab curriculums. That said, students can choose whichever curriculum they prefer provided the experiments are safe to perform indoors and the student has the proper safety equipment. * Regarding textbooks, students can choose any textbook they prefer. * Students can do the experiments at any speed they want. * HCC will provide a room and adult supervision for the student to work on their lab experiments each co-op day.

What class supplies do parents need to provide?
Students will provide all lab supplies, safety equipment, prep work, team work, conduct the experiments, complete their own lab reports, and clean up their lab space.

Will homework be required for this class?
No

Additional Info:
Students will need to read, understand, and prep the lab(s) prior to arriving at co-op. Some labs require prep work done several days before class. Some labs can not be completed in one hour, so students will need to be thoughtful about how they prepare for each class. In addition, if they chose to work as a team, they will need to coordinate their class time plans with their lab partner(s).
