Class Description

This course is a continuation of ASL 1 and focuses on development of conversational and storytelling skills in ASL. Grammatical principles and functions will be emphasized. Appropriate cultural behaviors and conversational regulators in ASL will continue to be an important part of class. New vocabulary words will be introduced and quizzes or presentation will be assigned to work on fluency in ASL. Students are expected to practice new and previous signs at home as well as class participation. Prerequisite: ASL 1

Additional Info:

Students will be expect to practice at home each week new and old vocabulary words. Quizzes can be used by parents if they wish to use this class on a high school transcript. American Sign Language can count as a foreign language on a high school transcript. This class is planned to be a year-long class and will continue into the spring with more material and vocabulary.
