Class Description

Mindfulness is kind of a buzz word but we'll be exploring what it really means and how mindfulness can cultivate inner calmness, emotional intelligence, and a deep connection with oneself and others, this class encourages students to explore the power of meditation, breathwork, music, sound, self-regulation, and co-regulation. In each class, students will embark on a gentle and engaging exploration of mindfulness practices specifically tailored to their unique developmental needs. Through simple and fun activities, they will be introduced to the importance of paying attention to their breath and using it as an anchor to stay present in the moment. They will learn techniques to calm their minds, relax their bodies, and find a sense of inner peace. Self-regulation is a vital skill to develop, as it equips us with the ability to manage our emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. Our class will guide students to recognize their feelings and teach them simple yet powerful tools to express and regulate their emotions in healthy ways. Through mindfulness practices centered around self-regulation, students will learn to respond to challenging situations with kindness and compassion towards themselves and others and will get a chance to put into action good executive function practices. In addition to self-regulation, we will also explore the concept of co-regulation. Students will learn the power of connection and empathy, understanding how their presence and actions can positively influence those around them. Through group activities and partner exercises, they will practice active listening, effective communication, and supporting one another with kindness.
