Class Description
Fine motor skills are crucial for every day tasks like writing, drawing, using tools, dressing, and other important skills later in life. We will spend a lot of time engaging in play, games, crafts and other activities that focus on developing and strengthening the small muscles in the hands, fingers, and wrists. We will have fun with playdough, dumping and filling, sewing, tearing, cutting, stamping, lacing and threading, water dumping and filling. As well as a variety of building materials, using tools to pinch and grab/move items, sorting, and creating free art with a variety materials. Some activities will be based on a theme or book. A lot of work/play will be individual or in a group doing the same activity. Many times the children will have the opportunity to move from activity to activity as they desire. Class cost will cover items for the students such as playdough, materials to cut and explore, materials used to make a variety types of sensory doughs during the semester.

This class will involve using a variety of materials, such as scissors, homemade playdough/sensory creations, small items (beads, beans, or pom-poms), pencils, markers, and other materials for a different activities. Please understand the most activities will involve free play/explore, some may involve some instruction on how to use the materials such as scissors or small beads. If students are unable to use that materials safely, alternatives activities may have to be considered.
Please advise of any allergies, we may touch a variety of kitchen/household items such as flour, oil, sand, dirt. We may also explore things such as butter onto bread.
