Class Description
In this course, students will explore the rich tapestry of global cultures through the joy of movement! Throughout the semester, we'll discover a different dance form from different countries, delving into their unique rhythms, steps, and historical context. With a special focus on the dynamic and expressive dances of Latin America and the captivating movements of Arabic traditions. This class offers a unique opportunity for cultural appreciation and understanding. Our curriculum is thoughtfully designed to foster respect and admiration for diverse traditions, approaching each dance with respect for its origins and the communities from which it emerged. Students will learn fundamental steps and simple choreography, culminating in an exciting end-of-semester showcase. No prior dance experience is necessary, just a willingness to learn, move, and appreciate the wonderful world around us!
