Class Description
This class will introduce younger students the world of musical theater. We will learn basic theater terminology, singing while dancing/moving, and simple acting techniques. We will use these skills to present James & the Giant Peach Jr. with the Musical Theater class in the Spring.

Students in this class will be a part of our spring production of James & the Giant Peach Jr. They will use their new skills to be apart of different scenes and dances throughout the show. While most of the young students will not have any lines, it worth noting that every role in a production is very important. There are no small roles and it takes everyone coming together to make a show great! Students who are currently 11 and 12 years old are welcome to audition on August 19th. *Black Jazz shoes are REQUIRED for every class and rehearsal. These can be purchased on Amazon or most local dance stores. IMPORTANT DATES: August 19th: Theater Auditions from 10:00-2:00 for ages 11-12; (Meet the Teacher) August 26th: 1st day of class December 2nd: Rehearsal December 9th: Rehearsal January 13th: Rehearsal January 20th: Rehearsal January 27th: First day of spring semester **For the Spring semester, this class will move from the afternoon time slot to the morning from 10:00-11:00 in the theater, so that they may begin rehearsals with the full cast.
