Class Description
In Mock Trial, we will be given a case to study. We will then hopefully try that case in front of a judge and jury to determine a winner. We will learn about the criminal justice process, including the trial process, from start to finish. This is a great introduction to the criminal justice system, but be advised that we will discuss crimes, both lesser crimes all the way up to heinous crimes, in this class as part of our discussions. We also have the option to possibly compete at the Mock Trial Competition in May of 2027, if we decide. Students will need to be prepared to read through the case file and prepare for the trial day outside of class time.

$20 for printing cost and miscellaneous supplies
What class supplies do parents need to provide?
Yes, students will need a 3-ring binder at least 1 inch in size, highlighters, sticky notes and sticky flags, and any other marking materials wanted to make notes in the case file.
Will homework be required for this class?
No
