Class Description
Remember show and tell? Turns out, our elementary teachers were onto something. When a child brings something they love and shares it with a room full of people, something really special happens — they're not just talking about a toy or a book or a favorite rock. They're learning to organize their thoughts, read a room, handle nerves, and connect with others over something meaningful to them. It's low-stakes public speaking with built-in enthusiasm, and it works. This class will use the time-honored tradition of show and tell as a springboard for building real, lasting social skills — the kind that help kids move through the world with confidence and kindness. Each week, students will practice speaking in front of a group, listening with genuine attention, asking thoughtful questions, and encouraging their peers. We'll also weave in everyday manners and the art of being a good conversationalist (yes, even for six-year-olds!). Whether your child is a natural chatterbox or needs a little coaxing to speak up, this class is designed to meet them where they are and cheer them on every step of the way because the world needs our children's perspective, and our children need to know that their voices matter.

Additional Info:
This will be a high participation class. Students will be presenting frequently and asking questions when their peers present. We will also be doing activities that encourage conversation and building of social skills. The tone and the pace of the class will be gentle, and I completely understand that some days students are feeling more social than others; but I just wanted to provide some clarity since out space is limited.
